Honored SDSU Ag Professor To Retire After 27 Years
PIERRE, SD -

Award-winning South Dakota State University professor Steve Pohl will retire this week.

Pohl has served 27 years in SDSU's College of Agriculture and Biological Sciences and the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department.

His research in livestock, ventilation and the environment has gone to help set industry standards. He is behind a wide-reaching workshop called "Managing Your Unseen Employee: The Ventilation System."

He has co-authored more than 100 publications.

Pohl was inducted into the Rural Builders Hall of Fame. He has also received the National Hog Farmer Master Award and the South Dakota Honorary Master Pork Producer and Lifetime Achievement Award.

SDSU will host a reception for Pohl on May 30.
