Sioux Falls will soon be getting a new city clerk.
City Council Chair Sue Aguilar announced on Tuesday that the council will recommend Lorie Hogstad be appointed to the position. That will happen at the council's next meeting on March 19, 2012.
Hogstad served as Assistant City Clerk for the City of Sioux Falls from 1985-2005. In those 20 years, she was involved in all day-to-day functions of the Clerk's office including administering elections, attending and taking minutes at City Council meetings, and preparing and recording official documents. She's worked as the Licensing Specialist since 2005 and has been responsible for administering the alcoholic beverage licensing program.
Hogstad's responsibilities as City Clerk will be different than what previous City Clerk Debra Owen did. The city council decided to split the job into two separate positions. The process to fill the Legislative/Operations Manager position is still underway.
