Highway Patrol On Lookout For Drunk Drivers

Chances are, you'll see a South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper on the road if you're traveling this 4th of July holiday weekend.
That's because more will be on-duty, working longer shifts, looking out for drunk drivers. They'll be conducting both saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints through Monday.
“We have all kinds of things going on where we've tried to make an impact where we think the problem area is going to be,” said SD Highwat Patrol Lt. Alan Welsh.
Welsh says the dangers of drinking and driving increase during the Fourth since many holiday weekend events last all day.
