SIOUX FALLS, SD -
A high-speed chase that entered Sioux Falls city limits ended Friday morning in a crash between the suspect's vehicle and a Highway Patrol car.
Officials were able to stop the small Dodge pickup truck on 12th Street and Petro Avenue. That's just west of Interstate 29 in front of the Hardees restaurant.
Witnesses saw officials hit the suspect's truck to spin it out and stop it. A Highway Patrol car is crashed into the passenger side door of the truck and both vehicles are damaged.
Eastbound traffic on 12th Street is blocked in the area and crews are directing traffic as needed; you may want to avoid the area on your morning commute.
Multiple agencies are on the scene including Highway Patrol, Sioux Falls Police, Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office and unmarked vehicles.
Also Friday morning, the Lennox School Superintendent says the district has locked down school and ordered buses to stay out until local officials resolve a possible bank robbery. The district sent a message to parents Friday morning to alert them of the situation.
