High Hopes Remain For Jackrabbit Fans

March 10, 2014, 10:22 PM by Jared Ransom

High Hopes Remain For Jackrabbit Fans
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The women's game earlier today was a hard pill to swallow, but the Jackrabbit fans were looking ahead to tonight to wipe the bad taste out of their mouths.

Excitement and positivity are the theme of the night as the SDSU fans prepared to see their men take the floor once again in the Summit League tournament.

"Well, I'm here to cheer on the Jacks! Woo Woo!" Brooke Debeer said.

"I'd like to think I feel confident, but I know that we've split in the previous games with them. So, I just think it would be a great win," Laron Deboer said.

Fans of all ages rushed into the arena with the hopes that they would see one of their teams play for a Summit League title. Deboer was at Sunday's game and he hoped for some quick scoring.

"They kind of put it together. I'm hoping that they can start out tonight the way they finished last night against IPFW," Deboer said.

Fans are still trying to forget what happened earlier in the day with the SDSU women losing to USD.

"I thought 'Oh, they're going to get a comeback,' and then the Coyotes got ahead so it was bad after that," Brooke said.

"Yeah, it makes you a little bit nervous and you hate to think that we'd be going home and not playing in either of the championship games tomorrow," Deboer said.

That's no concern for Brooke. Her father went to SDSU and she's been cheering on the Jacks since she can remember. She is quick to offer her expectations heading into the game.

"I'm expecting to see Jordan get a lot of those easy baskets and Braden getting threes. I'm hoping that the boys will win," Brooke said.
