Heroes Behind The Badges Blood Drive Begins Thursday
Heroes Behind The Badges Blood Drive | 2012

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue and the Sioux Falls Police Department will kick off their annual blood drive competition on Thursday.

This is the 18th year for the "Heroes Behind the Badges" Blood Drive. And in order to win, each department will need your help. You can go to either Sanford Medical Center or Avera McKennan Hospital donor rooms, donate blood and let hospital workers know which department you want your blood to go to.

You will also get a police or fire t-shirt for donating blood and a $5 gift certificate to Texas Roadhouse.

The department with the most blood donations will give $350 to the charity of their choice. The department that comes in second will give $150 to charity.

The friendly competition will run until January 4.
