A strong storm hit right around 3 p.m. Monday with torrential rain that came fast and fell heavy.
The rain was so heavy that it caused drivers to take shelter under awnings at local gas stations.
One driver we talked to said that she had to pull over because she couldn't see the road.
There was also some small hail that came with the storm that caused some concern, but this round of severe weather was highlighted by that heavy rain.
The city of Sioux Falls has crews responding to flooding and damage following the strong storm.
Heavy rain, lightning and winds affected the city.
Public works is working to restore electrical service to customers and to make sure storm water is draining properly. The Forestry Division of the Park Department is removing downed trees from roads.
