A pretrial motions hearing is scheduled Tuesday in the case of a 73-year-old Watertown man accused of fatally shooting his long-ago classmate.
Carl Ericsson is charged with first-degree murder in the Jan. 31 killing of retired Madison High School teacher and track coach Norman Johnson.
The 72-year-old Johnson was shot twice in the face after answering the door at his house in Madison. An arrest affidavit suggests that the incident that might have stemmed from an old grudge when the two were students at Madison High.
Ericsson has pleaded not guilty and requested a jury trial.
The hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. at the Lake County courthouse in Madison.
