A hearing to revoke and forfeit the $750,000 bond paid by the father of 28-year-old Joseph Patterson will resume in July.
Patterson was arrested Wednesday on kidnapping and assault charges for strangling a Sioux Falls woman in a southeast Sioux Falls apartment.
Patterson was charged last fall with the death of two-year-old Tyrese Ruffin, who is the biological son of NFL star Adrian Peterson. Court records show Patterson's dad paid the entire $750,000 cash bond to get his son out of jail after he was indicted in that case last October on murder and manslaughter charges.
During a hearing at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Patterson appeared via video and his attorney, Tim Rensch, was on the phone from Rapid City. Because Rensch hasn't received paperwork yet, he couldn't make an argument so the hearing will resume on July 10.
