For the past 25 years, KELOLAND News has brought you stories of children with medical challenges who need your help. And this coming weekend, we'll do it again.
In 1986, then Sioux Valley Hospital signed on with the non-profit organization as a sponsor. The goal: to help as many sick kids as possible by raising awareness and funds for local children.
In its first year, CMN raised less than $40,000. But in 2007, donations rolled in and surpassed the one million dollar mark. In Tuesday night’s HealthBeat Special CMN: 25 Years of Miracles, learn more about the organization's history, where the money goes and meet the children and families you've helped throughout the years.
"It affects everything that goes on here, affects real people in real situations. It's not a 'Woe is me attitude,' but it's being grateful for the things that you receive and to have that support. We couldn't have done it without it," father Ray Janeway said.
Tuesday night’s HealthBeat Special CMN: 25 Years of Miracles airs on KELO-TV at 6:30 p.m.. The annual broadcast begins Saturday night on MyUTV at nine o'clock. Then join us Sunday on KELO-TV for the live broadcast from Sanford Children's Hospital.
