Minnesota Congressman Tim Walz will have a challenger for his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives during the next election cycle.
Jim Hagedorn will be running as a Republican against Walz. His history in politics is lengthy, including a run as executive of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He sees his conservative message hitting home with southwest Minnesota voters, and he is already putting plans together for what would be his first day in office.
"We would put our legislative agenda together and have lots of ideas for reforming government. I'll be bringing those out in the future. Most importantly, trying to be an immediate impact within that Republican caucus,” Hagedorn said.
If elected, Hagedorn says one of his biggest areas of focus will be on agriculture and how it must continue to grow in the Midwest.
