Two people from North Dakota face grand theft by deception charges in South Dakota.
Attorney General Marty Jackley says George Donald Nelson III, 45, and Karla Ann Nelson, 44, both of Fargo, are charged with two counts each of grand theft by deception.
The Nelsons are accused in the sale of metal buildings that were never constructed. They once operated businesses in South Dakota using the following names: Baron Buildings, LLC., Baron Steel Buildings, Steel Baron Buildings, Steel Buildings of Georgia and Ag Pro Buildings/Fargo.
The Division of Criminal Investigation and Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division are involved in the case. If you have done business with the Nelsons and think you may have been a victim, you are asked to contact the Consumer Protection Division at 1-800-300-1986 or consumerhelp@state.sd.us.
George Nelson III is already being held at the Minnesota State Penitentiary for theft by false representation.
The charges are punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment and/or a $20,000 fine.
