GPAC Basketball Tourneys Set To Tip-Off

Men

Northwestern will be the number one seed when the 2013 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men's Postseason Basketball Championships begins on Wednesday, February 20.

The Red Raiders went 17-3 in the league to win the GPAC regular season championship and also secured an automatic berth to the NAIA Men's Division II National Tournament in Branson.  Northwestern finished the regular season at 23-5.  Dordt will be the number two seed, Midland the three seed, and Doane the fourth seed in the conference tournament.

The semifinals are on Saturday, February 23, at the highest two remaining seeds.  GPAC Championship Tuesday, sponsored by Rawlings, will be on Tuesday, February 26.  The GPAC Postseason Champion garners an automatic berth to the NAIA National Basketball Tournament (the runner-up gains the berth if the regular season champion (Northwestern) wins the postseason).

GPAC Men's Basketball Quarterfinals – Wednesday, February 20

#8 Dakota Wesleyan (14-16, 9-11) at #1 Northwestern (23-5, 17-3), 8pm
#5 Morningside (16-14, 11-9) at #4 Doane (21-9, 11-9), 7pm
#6 Hastings (20-10, 11-9) at #3 Midland (18-11, 12-8), 7pm
#7 Briar Cliff (19-11, 10-10) at #2 Dordt (23-6, 15-5), 7pm
(GPAC Tiebreakers determined the 4-6 seeds of the 11-9 tied teams)

GPAC Men's Basketball Semifinals – Saturday, February 23
#8/#1 winner vs. #5/#4 winner, Time TBA
#6/#3 winner vs. #7/#2 winner, Time TBA

Women
