Gov. Dennis Daugaard is inviting communities across the state to apply to be South Dakota's Capital for a Day.
The promotion involves a main street walk, business tours around town and a social hour. Daugaard also holds a roundtable lunch for community leaders to meet and discuss the needs of the city.
Daugaard says it's a unique opportunity for him to get to know residents, find out what issues are on their minds and discuss the future.
Since 2011, Capital for a Day has been hosted by Mitchell, Canton, Onida, Volga, Hill City, Britton, De Smet, Viborg, Aberdeen and Lead-Deadwood.
Interested communities should fill out an application and submit it to the Governor's Office.
