Gov. Daugaard Advises Safe Travel This Holiday Weekend

Gov. Daugaard Advises Safe Travel This Holiday Weekend
PIERRE, SD -

With the Memorial Day weekend upon us, Gov. Dennis Daugaard is asking South Dakotans to make safe, smart choices when traveling.

The weekend is traditionally the start of the summer travel season and traffic will be heavier than usual. Those traveling should follow speed limits, avoid distractions, make sure everyone is wearing their seatbelt and have a sober driver at the wheel.

In past years, Memorial Day weekend has been free of fatalities in 2013 and 2011.
