Gov. Dennis Daugaard has appointed Sioux Falls lawyer Tim Dougherty and Mitchell businessman Larry Thompson to the South Dakota Transportation Commission.
Dougherty is a partner in a law firm. He replaces Mike McDowell on the commission.
Thomspon is CEO of Vantage Point Solutions, a telecommunications engineering and consulting company. Thompson replaces Kevin Schieffer, who resigned from the Transportation Commission after being appointed to the state Board of Regents.
The nine-member Transportation Commission oversees the state's highway system and other transportation programs.
