Getting The Most Out Of The Storm Tracker App

Getting The Most Out Of The Storm Tracker App

The Storm Tracker App is a great tool that can be used to get the forecast, look at the radar and most importantly, notify you if severe weather is in the area. But it can't do that if you don't have certain settings set on your smartphone. Here's how to get the most out of the app.

First off, set the app up for your location. If you allow the app to use your current location, then everything is set up for you. Notifications will be sent to your phone when your phone's location is in the path of severe weather including, Severe Thunderstorm Warnings, Tornado Warnings, Flood Warnings, and more.

Another option is to not allow the app to know your current location. If you choose that option, then you'll have to add your location by entering in your city or county. The downside to this option is that you will get every warning issued for the county you are in, whether or not you are actually in danger.

We've also been getting questions about the BTI or Baron Threat Index. It's a number system based out of 10. The higher the number, the stronger the storm.

As we head into the rest of the week, make sure you to download the Storm Tracker App if you haven't already. It's a great tool that can be used to stay informed about the weather so you can stay ahead of the storms.
