Remi Wientjes had 18 points and Karlea Stahl added 16 as Sully Buttes defeated Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 55-48 Thursday at the South Dakota girls Class B basketball tournament.
Wientjes made six of 10 shots from the field and went 5-for-6 from the free throw line for the Chargers (21-3), who had been outscoring opponents by 30 points.
Sanborn Central-Woonsocket (22-2) was within two points with 2:31 to play. It was close down the stretch.
The Chargers were 29-for-40 from the free throw line. Stahl was 12-for-15.
Myah Selland had 13 points and Rachel Selland 11 for the Hawks, who made 18 of 28 shots from the line.
Sanborn Central-Woonsocket shot 50 percent from the field, while Sully Buttes shot 35 percent.
