Ellie Brecht scored 19 points as Sioux Falls Lincoln celebrated its first title-game berth in 24 years with a 51-36 win Saturday over Mitchell at the South Dakota girls Class AA basketball tournament.
Brecht made five of seven 3-pointers and finished 7 for 12 from the field for the fifth-seeded Patriots (17-8). Lincoln's last appearance in a title game was in 1989 when it lost 65-63 to Huron.
The Patriots led 25-15 at the half and pulled away in the fourth quarter. They shot 47 percent from the field, compared to 27 percent shooting by the Kernels (22-4).
Cera Ledbetter had 12 points for Lincoln and Sydney Miller added 11.
Defending champion Mitchell was led by Kerri Young, who scored 13 points.
