Pine Ridge built a 13-point halftime lead before defeating West Central 63-53 on Friday, advancing to the championship game in the South Dakota girls Class A tournament.
Third-seeded Pine Ridge (22-1) had three players in double figures, paced by Jolonna Sazue with 15 points. Shaylene Richard added 14 points and Santana White Dress posted a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
The Lady Thorpes shot 30 percent from the field while limiting the Trojans to 26 percent. Pine Ridge out-rebounded West Central 47-38.
Hunter Mathieu posted a game-high 18 points to lead seventh-seeded West Central (19-6). Madison Kuehl added 12 points and McKenzie Stone finished with 11.
