Pine Ridge shook off a slow first half to beat Chamberlain 55-34 Thursday in a first-round game at the South Dakota girls Class A basketball tournament.
The Lady Thorpes (21-1), who have surpassed 100 points three times this season, led 19-12 at halftime. But they outscored Chamberlain 36-22 in the second half.
Chamberlain shot just 26 percent from the field (21-2).
Shaylene Richard led the Lady Thorpes with 12 points. She was 5-for-12 from the field.
Jolonna Sazue added 10 points and four rebounds. She had two three-pointers.
Kennedy Wagner and Jaymee Knippling led the Cubs with seven points apiece.
