Rylie Osthus scored 20 points to lead De Smet to a 52-34 first-round victory over Parker on Thursday at the South Dakota Class B girls basketball tournament.
Osthus also grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out three assists as the second-seeded Bulldogs (23-1) pulled away in the second half to advance to the semifinals. De Smet, leading 23-21 at the half, outscored the Pheasants 29-13 after the intermission.
Amanda Poppen added 10 points and Taylor Schoenfelder scored nine points for De Smet, which shot 39 percent from the field while holding Parker to 24 percent.
MicalAnne Hanten led Parker (15-9) with 11 points. Tessa Weeldreyer finished with 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
