Gauging Recent Rainfall

June 13, 2014, 5:34 PM by Scot Mundt

Gauging Recent Rainfall

A lot of you are taking steps to better gauge our recent storms.

In the past two weeks there's been no shortage of rain in southeast KELOLAND, but there seems to be a shortage of rain gauges.  While not all stores have sold out, there's been a spike in sales.

And for good reason.  In the past two weeks, Sioux Falls has officially received more than six inches of rain.

Rain amounts can vary over a short distance.  One side of town will receive a different amount than the other.  So if you're interested in finding out exactly what has fallen in your yard, a rain gauge is a good investment.  It also makes a good Father's Day gift.

If you already have one, feel free to share those amounts with us by sending emails to the KELOLAND Live Doppler HD Stormcenter.

The KELOLAND rain gauge is available right now at Sioux Falls Lewis stores.  You can also order it from the KELOLAND Store.
