Gas Up Nearly 50 Cents Compared To Last Month

Gas Up Nearly 50 Cents Compared To Last Month
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

If you're planning on filling up your gas tank on Monday, you can expect to pay nearly 50 cents more than you did a month ago.

According to AAA South Dakota, a decline in gas prices is not something to look forward to in the near future.  Officials say the reason for the increase at the pump is because of an increase in crude oil prices.  Because of that rise, it has many drivers nervous of what they could be seeing.

AAA says prices are expected to top out in May, leaving many thinking if prices keep rising like they are, we could be paying over $5 per gallon by May.

As of Monday, the nation's average for gas is at $3.73 for regular grade fuel compared to one month ago at $3.30.  In South Dakota, our average is $3.57.
