Gas Pump Prices Dropping Across KELOLAND

December 18, 2012, 6:15 PM by Stephanie Gregory

Gas Pump Prices Dropping Across KELOLAND
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

If you are a driver, you may have noticed a little less pain at the pump. Tuesday’s price at the pump is nine cents less expensive than one week ago and AAA said it is 18 cents less than one month ago.

"I love it.  It's easy to fill up this big truck; it's just crazy," Colton Olofson said.

AAA released a report showing gasoline prices across the Rushmore state and the numbers this holiday season are dropping.

"It's been very handy to have the extra cash for presents," Alexa Howe said.

Howe travels over 40 miles a day back to her job in Sioux Falls; she said she feels the extra money in her pocket.

"They were getting really high and I do a lot of driving so not having to pay so much has been so nice for me," Howe said.

With Christmas only a week away, AAA said this is helping travelers pinch pennies.

"I think the lower gas prices will be a positive thing for travelers.  They are looking to save where they can and this time they can save at the pump," Marilyn Buskohl with AAA said.

According to AAA, from Sioux Falls to Pierre to Rapid City Prices range from $3.04 to $3.38 per gallon.

"Sometimes that's fuel transportation costs, but a lot of times it's due to old fashion competition," Buskohl said.

"When I was in high school, it was during the gas war and I was paying 65 cents a gallon," Amanda Bedker said.

No matter where you live across KELOLAND, the prices at the pumps are plummeting.
