According to Triple A, gas prices for this Independence Day are expected to reach the highest rate in six years. The agency reports that just a couple of days ago; the national average price of gas was $3.68, which is $.14 cents higher than last year at this time.
Ronnie Stahl is a driver from Minnesota, and even though he doesn't plan to do much traveling for the fourth of July, the high price of gas is still affecting how he gets around.
“Not for the fourth. This weekend it did, though. I, instead of taking the truck, to save on gas, I took a smaller car,” Stahl said.
To save on gas money in the future, Stahl says he plans to stay closer to home, instead of going on long trips.
