Funeral In Honor Of Correctional Officer

SIOUX FALLS, SD -
A funeral was held today for the correctional officer who was killed in the line of duty at the South Dakota Penitentiary earlier this week.
The service for 63-year-old Ron Johnson was at 10:00 this morning at the Ramkota Hotel in Sioux Falls.
Officer Johnson was then buried at Lone Rock Cemetery near Flandreau. Governor Dennis Daugaard is asking all flags be flown at half-staff today in Johnson's honor.

Authorities said a 16-year-old student fired a gun at the school Wednesday morning. Law enforcement said the injury was a flesh wound.

Authorities did not identify the victim, but described him as a 16 year old from Minnehaha County.

The teenager found dead on Interstate 90 has been identified as an O'Gorman High School student.

At 10:45 p.m. Thursday, deputies found a body at Interstate 90 and North Kiwanis Avenue, near the Interstate 29 interchange.
