SIOUX FALLS, SD -
A benefit fund is set up for the family of a correctional officer killed in an escape attempt at the South Dakota Penitentiary.
Ron Johnson was killed while on duty April 12th; it was his 63rd birthday.
Donations to the Ronald E. Johnson Family Benefit Fund can be made at any Wells Fargo bank across the county. Wells Fargo made the first donation of $1,000.
Johnson was a 23-year veteran of the Department of Corrections.
