Fugitive Search

October 1, 2012, 10:40 PM by Darcy Andersen

ROBERTS COUNTY, SD -

Authorities in Northeast South Dakota want people in the area to to lock their cars and homes.

Roberts County Sheriff Jay Tasa says deputies responded to a stolen car call out of Richland County, North Dakota Monday afternoon.

After a chase, the suspect crashed the vehicle near the Circle K Resort on Lake Traverse. The suspect ran off. Authorities thought they had him cornered in a cornfield, but could not find him.

The suspect is a white man in his late 20's, about six feet tall.

He is considered dangerous and authorities say he may try to steal more vehicles to leave the area. Authorities have recovered the stolen vehicle, and will continue their search at daylight Tuesday.
