SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Visitors to this year's South Dakota State Fair can enjoy fun, food and get tested for cancer.
The Cancer Awareness and Prevention Booth and a Mammogram Van will be available during the fair in Huron, which runs through Monday.
U.S. Senator Tim Johnson and his wife, Barbara, have been holding the screenings at the fair since 2000 in an effort to educate the public about the risks of cancer and the benefits of early detection.
Free screenings for prostate cancer will be available for the duration of the fair at the Cancer Awareness and Prevention booth. No appointment is necessary.
Avera McKennan will conduct free mammograms to screen for breast cancer on Friday. Appointments are necessary and can be made by calling 1-800-537-0025.
