Former South Dakota legislator Elmer Diedtrich has died. He was 85.
Diedtrich, formerly of Mina and Aberdeen, served from 1989-1992 and 1999-2000 in the South Dakota House of Representatives. He served from 2001-2002 in the state Senate.
He passed away Tuesday in Williston, N.D.
His funeral is scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Aberdeen.
Gov. Dennis Daugaard has ordered the flag lowered to half-staff at the State Capitol on Saturday.
