PIERRE, SD -
A life-size bronze statue of former South Dakota Gov. Frank Farrar is being added to the state's Trail of Governors project in Pierre.
Farrar was governor between 1969-1971. Money to fund a statue of the Republican came Thursday through a donation from First National Bank of Pierre, First Savings Bank of Beresford and Capital Card Services of Sioux Falls.
Farrar owns all three financial institutions.
Former Govs. Harvey Wollman and Bill Janklow also will get statues. Each statue costs about $68,000 and is funded privately. They're to be unveiled June 14.
First National Bank President and CEO Craig Davis says it's an honor to Farrar's service as the state's top executive.
