A South Dakota ag education teacher who died in 2012 was honored with a National Association of Agricultural Educators award earlier this month.
William 'Bill' Lehman of Gettysburg, South Dakota, was one of six teachers nationwide who received the Teacher Mentor Award at the NAAE annual convention.
Lehman taught high school ag education from 1976 until he died from cancer in 2012. In his time at Gettysburg, he served as an official and unofficial mentor to students, alumni and other educators.
Fellow ag educator Tara Beitelspacher nominated Lehman for the award.
