Forecast Rain Totals This Weekend

Forecast Rain Totals This Weekend

While the temperatures and humidity have gone up this week, many in KELOLAND have been adding to their rain totals as well. As cooler air moves into the upper plains this weekend, there's another round of rain on the way. Some areas will receive more than an inch or two.

I looked the the European and American models for projected rain Saturday and Sunday. Both models are suggesting much of the rain will fall Saturday morning into the early afternoon with lingering rain on Sunday. Here are a few highlights.

Out of Sioux Falls, Aberdeen, Pierre and Rapid City, Aberdeen has the highest average for expectant rain at two and a quarter inches while Sioux Falls has the least at two-thirds of an inch.

The highest amount on the European is over three inches in Madison, South Dakota with the least falling in Worthington with two-hundredths.

The American model's highest is in Mobridge with over three inches while the least is Rapid City with eight hundredths.
The highest average from both models is two and a half inches in Mobridge with the lowest being a tenth of an inch in Worthington.

We'll see how things line-up tonight and who ends up getting the highest totals by Sunday evening.
