The holiday travel season is officially underway. AAA is predicting fewer travelers on the road and in the air this year in South Dakota.
It's the day before Thanksgiving, the busiest travel day of the year. Whether you're driving or flying, you should expect some large crowds.
"I was surprised this morning. I thought there would be more chaos than what there is," Ron Minnart of Boise, Idaho said.
Minnart isn't too concerned about flying on a day like today.
"I guess I've done enough travelling that I don't get too shook about things," Minnart said.
There were a couple minor delays Wednesday morning at the Sioux Falls Airport, but since then, most flights have been on time and stress-free.
"I had no complications coming in, so I was really happy about that," Denise Parchen said.
Parchen arrived two hours early for her flight out of LaGuardia Airport in New York Wednesday morning.
Danielle DelFanian's flight from Syracuse actually arrived early.
"It was very smooth. I actually ended up in Chicago a half-hour early and ended up here 15-minutes early which has never happened before," DelFanian said.
Unlike LaGuardia at 4 a.m., the airport in Syracuse was a little more chaotic at 6 a.m.
"We were running behind this morning and I was really nervous I got to the airport and the security line was crazy," DelFanian said.
But she still managed to make it home for the holidays.
"I'm so excited! And there's snow," DelFanian said.
