SIOUX FALLS, SD -
With flu season just around the corner, KELO-TV is teaming up with Lewis Drug for its annual flu shot clinic.
Shots will be given at all Lewis stores in Sioux Falls Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Flu mist is also available.
The cost is $28; it's free for those with a medicare card.
The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention recommends everyone six months and older get a flu shot this year regardless of whether you received one last year.
However, children younger than nine need to see a doctor to receive the shot. Children between nine and 17 years old need to have a parent present to sign a consent form at the flu shot clinic.
During the 2010 to 2011 season, 20 South Dakotans lost their lives because of the flu.
In all, there were 860 confirmed cases of the flu. While all age groups were affected, most of the people were in their teens.
