Flooding Still A Problem In Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, SD -
Sandbags are keeping overland floodwaters at bay in the Camino Real neighborhood in northeast Aberdeen, but homeowners are nervous. Some have lived there 30 years and say they have never seen the water so high.
Brown County Emergency Management Director Scott Meints says snow melt in a normal year would run into a slough or soak into the ground. He says the water table is too high this year for that to happen, and instead of soaking in the water is running.
Flood warnings remained in effect Tuesday for central Brown County, including Aberdeen, and for parts of other northeastern South Dakota counties.
