When a two-year-old from Flandreau was recently diagnosed with cancer, the community decided to step in.
On Sunday, organizers held "Liberty Day," a full slate of different events and activities at the Flandreau city park to benefit Liberty Amdahl, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
People who gathered say they came together for one simple cause.
“I know we have a very good, strong community here. I just never dreamed we'd have the support that we have. It just makes me feel great,” event organizer Margie Powers said.
All of the proceeds from Sunday’s events will be given directly to Liberty and her family.
