If you walk into the Cookie Jar Eatery in Downtown Sioux Falls you may see Jessica Smith busy at her day job, decorating cookies, cakes, and cupcakes. At the 5th semi-annual Art & Wine Walk Smith will be showing another piece of her creative side.
"It's my first art show so I'm really excited to see what happens," Smith said.
Smith paints acrylics and Friday her work will be displayed outside the Cookie Jar for the very first time. Her coworkers couldn't be more supportive.
"We're going to be around and all the employees will make a stop down here while she is showing and showcasing her work and I know some of her family members will be in town for it too. It's going to be fun," Co-Owner of Cookie Jar Eatery Glen Koch said.
Not only will this Friday put a spotlight on one of Koch's star employees, it's also a time for many people to get out on the town and through the front doors.
"It's been such a long winter, we're going to be so happy for warm weather. Friday night there is always activity when the weather is nice," Koch said.
As for Smith, she is eagerly anticipating her very first art show, as her co-workers, and biggest fans, watch on.
"There will be a lot of people walking through downtown on Friday so they will get to see my art, the Cookie Jar's art, and everything that we have to offer. It'll be great," Smith said.
On Friday night, there will be 33 different artists previewing work at 22 different locations. Some of those artists will actually be making art in front of your eyes. The event is in Downtown Sioux Falls from 5-9 p.m.
