First Day Of School For Harrisburg

August 21, 2014, 7:53 AM by Stephanie Gregory

First Day Of School For Harrisburg
HARRISBURG, SD -

Harrisburg High School is ready for students to come through the door for the new school year, especially science teacher Kay Bass.

"We got a lot of our prep work ready to go we're just excited to have kids back in the building, as a teacher that's what you look forward to, working with students," Bass said.

The books are out and the desks have been wiped clean. Bass says for many students, the first day of school is all about adjusting.

"First day concerns is always their schedule, who they are going to be in classes with, who their friends are going to be in their classes, and what lunch schedule they are going to have," Bass said.

On the first day, she says, coming prepared will help the students get through until the final bell.

"Just come prepared, come with all your material, be ready to sit, and listen to the teacher, and find out what is going to be expected of you that year."
