Fire Prompts Brief Yankton Motel Evacuation

YANKTON, SD -
A Yankton motel was evacuated briefly Tuesday night when a commercial dryer started on fire.
Fire Department officials say the fire at the Colonial Inn happened about 8:15 p.m. People in the motel were evacuated while firefighters put out the blaze.
No injuries were reported. The motel suffered smoke and water damage.

Authorities said a 16-year-old student fired a gun at the school Wednesday morning. Law enforcement said the injury was a flesh wound.

Authorities did not identify the victim, but described him as a 16 year old from Minnehaha County.

The teenager found dead on Interstate 90 has been identified as an O'Gorman High School student.

At 10:45 p.m. Thursday, deputies found a body at Interstate 90 and North Kiwanis Avenue, near the Interstate 29 interchange.
