A fire burning near Murdo Wednesday evening caused some headaches for drivers on Interstate-90.
The fire caused the Interstate to be shut down for a while earlier Wednesday evening. It has since opened back up.
Authorities say the fire started when a semi hauling hay caught fire. The hay then blew of the truck as it was driving, starting three separate fires, one of which was nine miles long and a mile wide.
While the fire did destroy an old barn and a few abandoned out buildings, the biggest loss is the hay which is in high demand this drought.
Fifty units from a dozen volunteer fire departments and the forest service were able to contain the fire once the sun went down, the temperature dropped and the wind stopped.
