A big sign of progress today at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center as crews hoisted the final beam for the roof Wednesday. Community members were encouraged to come and sign it before it went up.
Those who signed the 30-foot steel beam got a special treat, the chance to be on the floor of the new stadium.
“This hasn't been easy, but it has been so worth it Sioux Falls. Thank you for supporting the event center, this is your event center, let's have some fun and raise this beam,” Mayor Mike Huether said.
The building is expected to be fully closed by the end of the year.
The $117 million events center is expected to be open and ready to go by fall 2014.
