February Buys

February Buys

You may not save on roses or chocolates in February, but there are Valentine's deals to be had.  Plus it's a good month to buy clothes, home goods and big screen HDTVs.

Those Valentine gifts are everywhere this time of year, and a few are even on sale.  Lingerie stores like Victoria's Secret offer coupons this time of year.  Last year it was $15 off $100 orders.

Online jewelry sites also offer discounts at checkout. is offering 20 or 25 percent off jewelry, depending on how much you spend.

It's not nearly as romantic, but tax software is also on sale in February.  You can save nearly 60 percent on some tax software this month, with basic programs starting at $20.

You can't get it delivered by the Super Bowl, but February is a great time to upgrade to a new bigger and better HDTV all month long.  Prices on 55" and 60" HDTVs are the lowest they've been in a year.

February is also a good time for electronics clearance sales, so watch for good prices on other electronics as well.

The biting cold on Thursday may have you longing for a warmer coat.  And now you can find name-brand coats like Columbia and North Face for half off or more.

And those expensive Ugg boots have also dropped in price.  Sluggish holiday sales mean a lot of leftover inventory and some styles are as much as half off.

Also coming in February are the Presidents' Day sales, where you can expect as much as 80 percent off of items like tools, bedding, furniture and clothing.  For more information on February deals go to
