Fatal Crash In Minnehaha County

February 5, 2013, 4:03 AM by Shawn Neisteadt

Fatal Crash In Minnehaha County
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

One person is dead and authorities are looking for the exact cause of a crash.  It happened Monday night at 6:50 p.m.

The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office says a vehicle traveling east on 268th Street went off the road and hit a tree.  The location of the crash was just west of the Ellis Road.

Investigators are now looking for the exact cause.  They don’t know if the driver was wearing a seat belt, but do say speed and alcohol don’t appear to be factors in the crash.

The victim’s name is not being released as authorities contact members of the driver’s family.
