JAMESTOWN, ND -
The nonprofit Farm Rescue group is accepting applications from farmers in need of help with spring planting.
North Dakota-based Farm Rescue helps family farmers in the Dakotas, Montana, Minnesota and Iowa who have suffered a major injury, illness or natural disaster. Volunteers help the farmers plant and harvest up to 1,000 acres of crops.
The effort began in 2006. It helped its 200th farmer last year.
Priority is being given to applications received by April 15. More information can be found on the Farm Rescue website.
