A few more checkout lanes are headed to Sioux Falls. Though the Sioux Falls Fareway doesn't open until the spring, the grocery store is already preparing.
Fareway is hosting an open interview at Sunnycrest United Methodist Church on West 41st Street. Officials want to fill more than 100 jobs.
Fareway already has a large presence in Iowa, but this is the first store to open in Sioux Falls. The Western Region Vice President describes Fareway as having a small town grocery store atmosphere.
The job fair started at 9 a.m. but by 8:30 a.m., there was already a long line of people waiting to get in to apply. Steve Wallin says he got to the church at seven in the morning because he knows these jobs will go fast.
"I wanted to get the jump on everybody. I knew there would be a lot of people and I think there was 120 jobs available. Hopefully, I'll get one of those spots," Wallin said.
The open interview goes until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
