Crystal Schulz is being remembered tonight as a shy, but upbeat girl with an incredible smile.
Schulz was a kind person who loved cats, the color orange and country singer Kenny Chesney. Her aunt says Crystal always had a smile for everyone she met.
"Always grinning, had a sense of humor, she would always crack a smile, she was a positive girl," her aunt Marsha Schulz said.
Marsha Schulz, who lives near Madison learned of the news Monday morning that Crystal didn't show up for work and she said that was out of character.
"When she was first reported missing I was like okay she did a Crystal blonde thing, thinking let's go run off with a guy and maybe she never thought it completely through and we would hear back from her in a day or two hey come pick me up I didn't think this through," Marsha said.
Marsha says she knew Crystal and Kent Davidson were engaged to be married this August, but that's about it.
"I never met him personally, only just what she's told me," Marsha said.
And now that Crystal's fiance is being held for questioning in her murder, Marsha doesn't know what to think, only that it's going to be very hard on the family, especially Crystal's mother and younger brother.
"It's going to be a huge loss for Agnes and Austin," Marsha said.
Crystal and Austin shared the same birthday together, but Marsha says it hasn't sunken in yet that they won't be celebrating it together anymore.
"It's just a shock right now, she's not coming back it's tough, it's a tough situation," Marsha said.
Crystal worked two jobs in Mitchell at a convenience store and at the Abbott House.
Family and friends have started a fund in Schulz' NAME.
You can send donations to the Fulton State Banks in either Mitchell or Fulton.
Checks should go to the Benefit for Crystal Schulz.
