Family Fun Festival Promotes Good Health

Family Fun Festival Promotes Good Health

Health education can sometimes be a hard topic to talk about with kids but one event is working to make learning about health fun instead of stressful.

The Family Fun Festival in Sioux Falls looks to provides families with important health information in a safe and fun environment. From checking blood pressure to making sure little hands are free of germs the event helps all ages think about healthy habits.

“It’s not like, you know step on the scale, weigh in, how tall are you. It’s more subtle talking about health and that's what families need to be doing, as a family having those dialogs and having everybody involved so there’s not mysteries,” Executive Director of Health Connect Fran Rice said.

Parents took advantage of free dental screenings and child identification kits. And some face painting provided some added fun for the kids.
