HURON, SD -
Banners honoring the 28 South Dakota service men and women who died during operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom will be displayed in Huron this weekend.
The Fallen Heroes Banner Display will be in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A public memorial service will be held at the church Sunday at 2 p.m.
Beadle County Veterans Service Officer Ken Linblad says the display was put together by the state of South Dakota.
He says the banners should remind residents that freedom does not come without a cost.
